Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 10:30am in the Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Fontenot Cemetery in Tate Cove. Fr. Gene Tremie will officiate the services.

Mr. Fontenot, a resident of Ville Platte, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 5:18 am in the VA Hospital in Alexandria. He also served with the US Army in World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Louie Fontenot wife, Theresa of Ball, Joe Fontenot wife, Mary of Chicot, Tim Fontenot of Tate Cove; one daughter, Mary Regina Roeder husband, Chris of Ville Platte; one brother, John Roy Fontenot of Ville Platte; one sister, Louise Balfer of Baton Rouge; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 from 9am until 10pm and on Saturday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6pm on Thursday and a veterans service will be held at 10am Friday.

Mr. Fontenot is preceded in death by his wife, Alfreda Fontenot and a daughter, Marie Fontenot.
