VILLE PLATTE It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Shirley Mae Brown, 75, announces her passing she left this world peacefully, surrounded by her family, Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte. Burial will immediately follow in the M B Fontenot Cemetery with Fr. Brian Harrington as Celebrant.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Shirley will be deeply mourned by her devoted children: Kenneth Brown and his wife, Gwen of Pine Prairie, Darrell Brown and his wife, Tina of Ville Platte, Derrick T Boy Brown and his wife, Rhonda of Ville Platte and Sherry Vidrine and her husband, Kenneth of Bayou Chicot. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Wendy Fontenot, Stephanie Matherne, Haley and Katie Brown, Amber and Kenny Vidrine and Ethan, Austin and Taylon Brown and further blessed with four great grandchildren: Joshua, Hannah and Aliona Fontenot and Aiden Matherne. She also leaves behind a sister, Rosa Cooley and her husband, Ross of Leesville.

She will now rest in Heaven along side her beloved husband, Joseph Eull Brown and her parents, Joseph and Lolita Fontenot LeBleu. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.

At the request of the Brown family, visitation will be held Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 2:00 PM Friday, October 31, 2014 and will continue until the time of the service on Saturday. A Rosary will be recited in her honor at 6:30 PM Friday evening.
