VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Friday, October 11, 2019 for Sheila Marie Fontenot, 50, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8, at Mercy Regional in Ville Platte.

Father Blake Dubroc, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in the Jules Cemetery.

Sheila Marie Fontenot was born October 27, 1968 in Ville Platte to her parents James Johnson and Ethel Lee Brown Johnson.  Sheila worked as an Elderly Caregiver for many years.  She enjoyed taking care of and helping others.  Sheila also served as an Assistant Coach for the Special Olympics for over 5 years.  Her greatest love was the love she had for her family and friends.  She enjoyed shopping with her grandkids and loved spending time with her friends and family.  She touched many lives throughout her life, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Shannon Fontenot; daughter, Megan Fontenot, grandchildren, Ainslee, Oliver, and Rosaleigh; and sister, Paula Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Johnson and Ethel Lee Brown Johnson; daughter, Caitlyn Fontenot; grandson, Kylen Fontenot; brother, Tony Johnson; and sister, Linda Johnson.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Visitation will resume Friday, October 11, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM.
