VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Ruby Fontenot, 83, announces her passing on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 18, 2011, at New Life Assembly of God Church at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Plaisance with Pastor Brian Dore officiating services.
A loving mother and grandmother, Rubys memory will be cherished by her three sons Ellis Fontenot of New Orleans, Ferrel Fontenot of Mamou, and Richard Fontenot of Mamou, two daughters Mrs. Widnor Mary Ducote and Mrs. James Theresa Soileau both of Ville Platte, her brother Amos Brown of New Orleans, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She now joins in heaven her parents Orise and Martha Brown, her husband Isson Fontenot, her son Elson Fontenot, and her brothers Isom Brown, Nathan Brown, and Hurey Brown.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home In Ville Platte on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 3:00 PM until time of services.
