It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Roy Ledoux Fontenot, 97, announces her passing on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 18, 2014. Rite of Committal will follow in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery. Father Jason Vidrine will officiate.
A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Roy will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Annison Fontenot and his wife, Glinda of Ville Platte and Steve Fontenot and his wife, Angie of Prairie Ronde, a sister, Verna L. Segiel of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, nine grandchildren Keith Fontenot and wife Michelle of Orange, Texas, Eric Fontenot and wife Joyce of Baton Rouge, Danielle Moreau and husband Blaine of Youngsville, Gabriel Fontenot and wife Miranda of Allen, Texas, Miguelle Faul and husband JD of Lawtell, Samuel Fontenot and wife Catherine of Plano, Texas, Lionel Fontenot and wife Alicia of Carencro, Rachelle Fontenot and Sharon Fontenot both of Prairie Ronde, and four step grandchildren Lynn Miller and husband Josh of Lawtell, Eve Lavergne and husband Tim of Lawtell, Eric Lavergne of Scott, and Amy Lavergne of Prairie Ronde. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her twenty two great grandchildren: Kyle, Lance, Haley, Caitlin, Alex, Madeline, Maicen, Karson, Thomas, Aiden, Wyatt, Shelby, Lydia, Caleb, Lauren, Kate, Grayson, Abilene, Si, Okyn, Bailey, and Devon and five step great grandchildren.
She now rests in Heaven with her beloved husband Alcidus G. Fontenot, her parents Fabous and Artis Fontenot Ledoux, her brothers Daluise Ledoux, Curtis Ledoux, Mayonce Ledoux, Ike Ledoux, Ervin Ledoux, and Joseph Ledoux, and her sisters Ella L. Dupre and Icy Mae L. Salaun.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 beginning at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed in her honor Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.
