VILLE PLATTE – Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 for Nora Lee Guillory Soileau, 90, who passed away on November 21, 2020 in Alexandria.
Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
Nora Lee Guillory Soileau was born on November 10, 1930 in Johnson Cove to Louis and Omerine Fontenot Guillory. Nora was a very strong-willed lady while being very kind and loving. She was a hard worker and worked for Vallie Canning Company for 32 years along with taking care of her family. Nora also took on child care in her later years; she holds a special place in the hearts of the children she took care of during their impressionable years. She was strong in her faith and was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Plate. Nora lived a beautiful life during her 90 years and will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Nora is survived by her sons, Eddie Soileau of Ville Platte and Patrick Soileau and wife, Vickie of Belaire Cove; brother, Bill Guillory of DeQuincy; three grandchildren: Shane Soileau and wife Marsha, Crystal Johnson and husband Jonathon, and Jarrett Ross Soileau; and her six great grandchildren: Hannan, Payton, Morgan, Zachary, Daniel, Abigail, Hudson, and Hallie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Currie J. Soileau; parents, Louis and Omerine Fontenot Guillory; daughter, Janice Faye Soileau; granddaughter, Ashley Soileau Fontenot; sisters: Joyce Fontenot, Rose Evans, and Agnes Guillory Young; and brothers: Clayton Guillory, Alvin Guillory, Nelson Guillory, and Calvin Guillory.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 9:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM led by Deacon Ben Soileau.
