VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Nannie Lucille Wilks Johns, 97, announces her passing on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center of Ville Platte. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Ville Platte. Burial will follow the service in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Pastor Kevin West officiating the services.
Nannie was a homemaker who devoted her life to the care of her family she was a kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends was her greatest joy. Beautiful memories of her will forever remain in the hearts of her children: Grantland W. Johns and wife, Judy of Fort Worth, Texas, Rita Franks of Alexandria and Carmen Bieber and husband, Conrad of Mamou. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Ramona Roberts and husband, Wayne, Jaquenette Robinson and husband, Brady, Joel Johns and wife, Tiffany Ann, Bryan Bieber and wife, Regina, Barry Bieber and wife, Micki, Kevin Bieber and wife, Jessica, Graham Bieber and wife, Sarah and Grayson Bieber and wife, Ashley she was further blessed with nineteen great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to have shared their lives with her.
She now joins in Heaven her beloved husband, Julian Johns and her parents, Russell and Callie Stiles Wilks they await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Johns family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 and continue until 8:00 PM that evening and will resume Thursday morning at 8:00 AM until the time of the service.
