VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Lyndon S. Soileau, 55, announces his passing on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his home in Metairie, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Fr. Garrett McIntyre officiating the services.
Lyndon was a devoted son to his loving parents, Kathleen Stromer Soileau and the late Dr. Gordon E. Soileau of Ville Platte. He is also survived by his three siblings Don Soileau of Lafayette, Barrett Soileau of Ville Platte and Melissa S. Hodlik of Houston, Texas. Lyndons memory will most certainly be cherished by his one niece, Rachel H. London of Fort Worth Texas.
Lyndon graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1975 and received his B. S. degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University in 1979 followed by a B. S. degree in Geology in 1985, he then went on to earn his Masters degree in Geology from the University of New Orleans in 1987. For the past 27 years he worked as an Environmental Scientist for W. S. Nelson and Company in New Orleans.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2012 until 9:00 PM that evening. Visitation will continue Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from 7:30 AM until the time of services. A Rosary will recited in his honor Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM.
