Linda Fontenot

VILLE PLATTE – A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery in Ville Platte for Linda Nell Fontenot, 69.

Linda Nell Fontenot was born March 28, 1953, in Ville Platte, LA to Valentine B. Fontenot, Jr. and Mary Godeaux Fontenot. A stickler for details, if Linda organized anything you could be sure everything was in its place as it should be. No matter what time of day or evening she was always ready to go, clad in well-dressed attire, complete with jewelry. She loved gardening and was known to enjoy a good book with her beloved cat keeping her company nearby.

Linda leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 18 years, David Bernard; daughters, Jessica Thompson and husband, Paul of Vidrine and Tonya Miksza and husband, Michael of Bunkie; and son Robert Guillory and companion, Susan Briscoe, of Watson. Linda also leaves behind her stepchildren, Taylor Thompson of Deville, Tara Mathews and husband, Orey of Marksville, and Nick Bernard and wife, Kennie of Marksville; her sister, Dorothy Guillory and husband, Michael of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Brice Guillory, Daylon Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Steven Miksza, Kaden Miksza, Zane Miksza, Daniel Miksza, Josie Miksza, Camden Thompson, Brinley Thompson, Ashlyn Mathews, Tayton Bernard, and Kooper Bernard; and great grandson, Walker Guillory.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Valentine B. Fontenot, Jr. and Mary Godeaux Fontenot; sister, Mary Ann Guillory; and brother, Gary Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
