VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lillian West, 94, announces her passing Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center of Ville Platte. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Brian Harrington will officiate the services.
Lillian was a homemaker and she devoted her life to the well being of her precious family. She was a kind and caring soul and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. Precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children: James Gary West of Ville Platte, Peggy Ardoin and her husband, Reno of Ville Platte and Marilyn Cougevan of Lafayette. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Chad Ardoin, Rusty Ardoin and Jennifer Cougevan and further blessed with three great grandchildren, Taylor, Alaina and Clint Ardoin they were her greatest joy in this life and she never missed a chance to spoil each and every one of them. Lillian also leaves behind a loving sister, Juanita Soileau of Ville Platte. She will be remembered as a delightful and engaging lady and will be mourned by all whom were lucky enough to have shared in her journey.
She will now rest in Heaven with her beloved husband, Joseph Roy West, their son, Paul Bradley West and her parents, Berthmaus and Emily Fontenot Smith. They await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the West family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 and will continue until 10:00 PM that evening and will resume at 8:00 AM Wednesday morning. A Rosary will be recited in her honor at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening.
