VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Lena Mae Hudspeth Williams, 90, announces her passing on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on January 1, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal will be in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Brian Harrington, celebrant.
A loving mother, sister, and grandmother she will be fondly remembered by her three sons Samuel Hudspeth and wife Lill of Highland, Michigan, Roy Hudspeth and wife Peggy of Ville Platte, and Dean Hudspeth and wife Celeste of Lafayette, three daughters Carolyn Landreneau and husband Buford of Bayou Chicot, Emily Kahler of Plant City, Florida, and Elaine Hudspeth of Ville Platte, and one sister Emily Joy Dupre of Rockwell, Texas. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Lena now rests in Heaven with her first husband James E. Hudspeth, her second husband Robert L. Williams, her parents John and Emily Ortego, her son James E. Hudspeth, Jr., her daughter Ellen Hudspeth, her brothers Edward Ortego, Edgar Ortego, Lee Roy Ortego, Allen Ortego, Rodney Ortego, Sylvan Ortego, and Howard Ortego, her sisters Verna Hart and Eva Lou Kubiak and her grandson Brady Hudspeth.
At the request of the Williams family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on January 1, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in her honor Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM.
