UPPER PINE PRAIRIE It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Marie Andrus, 88, announces her passing from this world to join her Savior in the next on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church of Pine Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery with Fr. Richard Broussard officiating the services.
Lena was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care and happiness of her family. She loved to spend her time gardening and working in her yard, she also enjoyed sewing and visiting with her precious family and friends. She was a devout member of St. Peters Catholic Church.
A loving mother, grandmother and aunt, Lena will be mourned by her adoring children: Terry Andrus and his wife, Lynn of St. Landry, Gene Andrus and his wife, Martha of Pine Prairie, Shelia Blood and her husband, Charles of Pine Prairie. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren and 3 greatgreat grandchildren they were the center of her life and her greatest joy. Her memory will most certainly be carried on by a host of nieces and nephews.
Lena will reunite in Heaven with her husband, Allen Andrus, her parents, Arthur and Rosa Guillory, her seven brothers and three sisters and two of her precious grandchildren. They await her arrival with arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Andrus family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013 and will continue until 10:00 PM that evening and again at 8:00 AM Friday morning until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her honor Thursday evening at 6:30 PM.
