VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Laura Anne Veillon, 80, announces her passing on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 2, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry, celebrant.
A loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Laura will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Murray Veillon, three daughters: Sandra M. Veillon, Jennifer Veillon Schatzle and husband Joseph Steven, and Christie Veillon Soileau and husband Robert John Jr. all of Ville Platte, and two sisters: Mamie St. Romain of Kenner and Edvina Veillon of Point Blue. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren: Joshua Schatzle, Rebecca Schatzle, Ryan Schatzle, and Gabriel Schatzle.
She now rests in Heaven with her parents John and Marie Richard.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 5:00 PM 10:00 PM and again on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited in her honor at 6:30 PM Thursday evening.
