VILLE PLATTE It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Larry Brasseaux, 61, announces his passing on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Savoy Medical Center of Mamou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte, with Rite of Committal to follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Father Mitchell Guidry will officiate the services.
A devoted husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, Larry will be deeply mourned by his loving wife, Sandra Faye Saucier Brasseaux and his children: Amanda Foret and her husband, Stacey, of Ville Platte, Rhonda LeJeune and her husband, Chris, also of Ville Platte, Johnny Devillier and his wife, Tobi, of Opelousas and Conrad Devillier and his wife, Erin, of Grand Prairie. He also leaves behind his dear mother, Hester Tweedel Brasseaux of Opelousas. His memory will most certainly be cherished by his eight precious grandchildren: Madison Foret, Evan Foret, Trevor Devillier, Abigail Devillier, Anistin Oxford, Mallori St. Martin, Zachery Devillier and Wesley Devillier they were his absolute greatest joy in life. He also leaves behind two siblings: Charles Brasseaux and his wife, Paula, of Opelousas and Charlene Miller and her husband, Mike, of Opelousas. Larry will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends his tremendous spirit and larger than life attitude will be lovingly recalled for years to come. When Larry was not spending time with his beloved family, he enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his garden and hunting.
He will now reunite in Heaven with his father, Elrick Brasseaux he surely awaits his arrival with open arms and a joyous heart.
At the request of the Brasseaux family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2013 and will continue until the time of the services Thursday. A Rosary will be recited in his honor at 7:00 PM Wednesday evening.
