VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, for Joseph Terry O'Connor, 78, who passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA.

Father Mitch Guidry, pastor of Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte, will be celebrant of the mass and conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Ville Platte.

Joseph Terry O'Connor was born in Chataignier, LA on October 17, 1939 to Dewey and Mary Ann Bourque O'Connor, he worked in the oilfield for many years. Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, making hot sauce, gardening, and watching sports; including baseball and football. He was an active parishioner at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Adorer and an Usher. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth O'Connor and wife, Tammy of Bayou Chicot; dauhter, Angela Godeaux and husband, Anthony of Bayou Chicot; 8 grandchildren, Ed O'Connor, Joshua O'Connor, Kenneth O'Connor, Jr., Keisha O'Connor, Travis O'Connor, Ashley Godeaux, Amber Godeaux and Adrian Godeaux; 13 great grandchildren and three sisters-in-laws, Joy O'Connor of Ville Platte, Ruth O'Connor of Denham Springs and Judy O'Connor of Ville Platte.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey O'Connor and Mary Ann Bourque O'Connor and three brothers, Perry, Burke and James O'Connor; one sister-in law, Diane O'Connor and one niece, Monique James.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 6:00 PM.
