VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of John Roland Fontenot, Jr., 47, announces his passing on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his residence. A Funeral of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel of Ville Platte. Burial will follow the service at the Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Pine Prairie, with Brother Brian Dore officiating the services.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, John leaves behind his wife of nine years, Kimberley Ramsey Fontenot and three sons: John Claude Fontenot of Ville Platte, Wesley Moore of Ville Platte and Joshua Fontenot also of Ville Platte. He will be sadly missed by his loving mother, Elverlis N. Guillory of Ville Platte and his siblings: John David Duos of Atlanta, Ga. and Belinda DeVille Ortego and her husband, Eddie of Pine Prairie. His memory will most certainly be cherished by his one grandchild, Saige A. Fontenot of St Landry. Also left behind, his motherinlaw, Jean Ramsey.
He now joins in Heaven his fathers, John Roland Fontenot, Sr. and Claude Guillory, one brother, Gerald Wayne DeVille and one grandchild, Violet November Moore. They await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of his family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM that evening and will continue Friday, April 20, 2012 from 8:00 AM until the time of services.
Pall bearers were as follows: Pat Derousselle, L. J. Guillory, Timmy LaCombe, James LaCombe, Keefen LaCombe and Jay Burks. Honorary pallbearers were John Claude Fontenot, Joshua Luke Fontenot, Wesley Moore, Natalie Ortego and Kerry Gautreaux.
