Ville Platte Funeral services for Mr. Joseph James Jimmy Wade Brou, I, will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 1:00pm in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Fr. Gene Tremie will officiate the services.

Joseph James Jimmy Wade Brou, I of Ville Platte, Louisiana, 77, passed away on August 28, 2007 at his residence following a long term illness.

Mr. Brou was retired from the Louisiana Department of Public Welfare as a case supervisor. He served as a charter member on the board of trustees for Ville Platte General Hospital. He served on the Sacred Heart Parish Council for three years. Mr. Brou served as Grand Knight of Council 1754 Knights of Columbus and was selected Knight of the Year in 1970. He was on the Evangeline Parish Council of Aged Board for ten years. He was also on the Evangeline Home Health Agency Board from 1972-1992.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Diane Meche and her husband, Brent of Beaumont, Tx. and Becky Benson and her husband, Steve of Ville Platte. He is also survived by sons, James, II and his wife, Nadine of Breaux Bridge, La. and David Brou and his wife, Sue of Ville Platte. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Melba Mistrat Brou.

Visitation will be held August 29, 2007 from 3pm until 10pm and on Thursday from 8am until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm Wednesday.
