VILLE PLATTE It is with great sadness that the family of Florence R. Manuel, 86, announces her passing on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 12:30 PM the service will take place at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte. Rite of Committal will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. Mitchell Guidry acting as Celebrant.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Florence leaves behind one son, Steve Manuel and his wife, Diane of Lafayette and two daughters, Mackie Fusilier of Ville Platte and Donna Frederick and her husband, Glen of Bossier City. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, Don and Roberta Fontenot of Ville Platte. Her memory will be kept alive by her sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and three greatgreat grandchildren they were the absolute light of her life.
Florence now joins in Heaven her beloved husband, Jeff Manuel, one daughter, Christina Ardoin, her dear parents, Dennis and Lessie Fontenot, two sisters, Joy Ardoin and Myrtle Reed and two brothers, Cecil Fontenot and Sylvan Fontenot. Also awaiting her arrival are her son in law, Ray Fusilier, two grandchildren, Monica Miller and Rachel Miller and three great grandchildren. They will most certainly welcome her with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte beginning Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM that evening. Visitation will continue Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 8:00 AM until time of services. A Rosary will be recited in her honor Friday evening at 7:00 PM.
