VILLE PLATTEIt is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Johnson, 92, announces her passing on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Internment will follow in the Ardoin Cemetery in Easton with Pastor Keith Sheridan, Jeffery Johnson and Cyndi Mereo officiating.
A devoted mother, grandmother and sister, Dorothy leaves behind her two sons: O. L. Johnson, III and his wife, Susan of Westlake and Tim Johnson and his wife, Pam of Many and her two daughters: Phyllis Johnson Banks and her husband, M. R. of Port Barre and Cheryl Johnson Whiddon and her husband, Edward of Houston. Also left behind is her loving sister, Ruth Courmier of Vinton. Her memory will most certainly be cherished by her six grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren they were truly the light of her life.
She now joins in Heaven her beloved husband, O. L. Johnson, Jr. and her parents, Joseph Enos and Lilly DeVille Ardoin. She will also reunite with her grandson, Taylor Joseph Johnson and her great granddaughter, Alizee Jewel PoupartBanks. They await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 5:00 PM Tuesday, September 25, 2012 and continuing until 9:00 PM that evening. Visitation will continue at the First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the Johnson family request that donations be made to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermilion St. Lafayette, La. 70501.
