VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and heaviest of hearts that the family of Donald Dale Fontenot, Sr. announces his passing on Thursday, February 5, 2015. A Catholic Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. A graveside inurnment will follow at the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Father Brian Harrington, celebrant.
Donald devoted 21 years of his life to Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie as part of their maintenance crew. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Patsy LeJeune Fontenot of Ville Platte, two sons Donald Dale Fontenot, Jr. of New Orleans, John C. Fontenot and wife Rachelle of Tate Cove, and one daughter, Shelia Fontenot of Brighton, Colorado. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He now rests with his parents, Averton and Esabelle Hebert Fontenot and brother J.L. Fontenot.
At the request of the Fontenot family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday February 8, 2015 from 3 PM until 8 PM and again on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 8 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Sunday. February 8, 2015 at 6 PM.
