VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church in Chataignier on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 for Cynthia Semien Fontenot, 49, who passed away on Wednesday, December 05, 2018 in Lafayette, LA surrounded by her loved ones.

Father Blain Clament, pastor of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in the Lafleur Woods Cemetery in Chataignier, LA.

Cynthia Semien Fontenot was born in Opelousas on September 30, 1969 to Delton Semien and Dorella Guillory Semien. Cynthia was a very hilarious, generous, strong-willed, and bold person. Cynthia loved to be in charge; she worked as an armed security guard with her son, Patrick Jr. and loved every minute of it. Cynthia loved life and appreciated every little thing. Cynthia was the person everyone leaned on, and called on when they were in a bind. Cynthia's greatest love was the love she had for her family, friends, and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her life. Cynthia left a lasting impression on everyone she met; whether she meant to or not. Cynthia may be gone, but her dreams will live on from the ones she left behind.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Fontenot; three daughters, Kimberly Fontenot of Chataignier, Taylor Fontenot of Baton Rouge, and Trish Fontenot of Scott; five sons, Patrick Fontenot, Jr. and wife Gennifer Arvie of Ville Platte, Christopher Fontenot of Chataignier, Brodey Fontenot of Chataignier, Joshua Fontenot of Chataignier, and Cody Fontenot of Chataignier; ten grandchildren, Tyler Richard, Jr., Tia Richard, Ashton Fontenot, Ethan Fontenot, Evan Fontenot, Cameron Fontenot, Hayden Fontenot, Sky Byrd, Noah Byrd, and Jaiden Byrd and her brothers, Scott Semien, Jason Semien, Phillip Semien, Adam Semien, and Kevin Semien all of Opelousas.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited during the visitation.
