Ville Platte It is with great sadness that the family of Clevens Joseph Fontenot announces his passing on Monday, May 21, 2012 at Riverside Hospital in Alexandria. He was 88 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church in Pine Prairie. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Mausoleum with Fr. Richard Broussard Celebrant..
A proud Veteran, Clevens servied in the U.S. Army during World War II served on the Evangeline Parish Police Jury He was a farmer and retired School Bus Driver for Evangeline Parish School System.
He leaves behind one son, Brent Fontenot and wife Della of Pine Prairie three daughters, Brenda Morgan and husband Glen, Roberta Dardeau and husband Wayne and Julie West and husband Joey all of Pine Prairietwo brothers, Ruston Fontenot of Pine Prairie and Silton Fontenot of Kinder twelve grandchildren and twentyone great grandchildren. He now rests in Heaven with his wife, Georgina G. Fontenot, his parents, Hillary and Julia Fontenot, one sister, Essie Lee F. Perron.
At the request of the family visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
