VILLE PLATTE- It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the family of Bernadine McMillen, 66, announces her passing on Sunday, January 11, 2015. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 10 AM at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery with Deacon Gene LeBouef officiating services.
A loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, Bernadine will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, Gene McMillen of Ville Platte, one son Jay Fontenot and wife Kylie of Eunice, one daughter Monica Delahoussaye and companion Heidi LaFleur of Carencro. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Delahoussaye, Samantha Delahoussaye, Keegan Theriot, and Jayden Fontenot and a host of nieces and nephews.
She now rests with her parents Polite and Genevieve Fontenot, son Timothy Scott McMillen, brothers: Hubert, Herbert, and JY Fontenot, and sister Gloria Vidrine.
At the request of the McMillen family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5 PM until 10 PM and again on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 8 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday, January 12, 2015 at 7:30 PM.
