Ville Platte - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 for Ms. Belle Andrus Ellis at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Taj Glodd will officiate the services. Burial will follow at B.J. Fontenot Cemetery.

Ms. Ellis, age 84 and a resident of Ville Platte, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 surrounded by her family.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte from 9:00 a.m. - until time of service on Monday, January 16, 2017. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Ben Soileau at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

Ms. Belle loved to cook for her family and friends. She was a babysitter for various families around the Ville Platte area, but she especially loved to babysit her grandchildren. Ms. Ellis will be remembered as a friendly, generous and caring woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Delores Soileau and Cathy Chapman and husband Andy; grandchildren, Brandy, Brandon, Betsy, Blair, Brittani and Julie; 13 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Max.

She is preceded in death by her former husbands, Charles Ellis and Levy Andrus; parents, Adiol and Lula Charlie Guillory; sisters, Mamie Fontenot and Elta Aguillard; brothers, Voorhies, Charles and Lennis Guillory; grandchildren, Justin, Amy and Brian Chapman; and son-in-law, John Glenn Soileau.
