VILLE PLATTE It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anna Lee Manuel, 87, announces her passing on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving family when she left this world to join her Savior in the next. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church of Ville Platte with Rite of Committal to follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery of Ville Platte Father Brad Guillory will officiate.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Anna Lee dedicated her life to the well being of her precious family. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters: Gwen Manuel Forrisdale and her husband, Frank of Woodville, TX. and Elizabeth A. Manuel Johnson and her husband, Raymond of Breaux Bridge. Her memory will be carried on by her adoring grandchildren: Cyd Ann Morien, Clint, Cory and Christopher Johnson. Anna Lee was blessed with four great grandchildren: Jacob, Paige and Dustin Weaver and Ava Johnson they were her absolute greatest joy in life.
Anna Lee was a long time employee of the Selective Service she began her career in 1944 and worked tirelessly until she retired in 1976 with the title of executive secretary.
She will now reunite in Heaven with her beloved husband, Hubert Joseph Manuel and her parents, Odey and Clara Mae Deshotels. They surely await her arrival with open arms and joyous hearts.
At the request of the Manuels visitation will take place at Ardoins Funeral Home of Ville Platte beginning at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 and will continue until 9:00 PM that evening and resume at 8:00 AM Thursday morning and continue until the time of the service. A Rosary will be recited in her honor Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM.
