VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Friday, May 21, 2021 for Anna Foret, 97, who passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 in Opelousas.
Father Mitch Guidry will be celebrant of the Mass and will conduct funeral services.
Entombment will take place in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum.
Anna Foret was born on February 19, 1924 in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Doniago and Odette Fontenot. Anna worked for and retired from National Food Company. She was a devout Catholic and faithfully attended Mass and prayed her rosary. Anna loved playing cards especially a friendly game of Bouree. As she advanced in years, her eyesight made playing cards more challenging, but her luck held out and she could still win those big “pots”. Anna’s greatest joy was that of spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. They will miss her greatly and will cherish the memories they shared forever.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Rose Reed Vidrine and husband, Steve of Opelousas; two granddaughters, Jennifer Devillier of Theriot and Angela Clay of Florida; and three great grandsons, Trae Mayeaux, Dustin Clay, and Ragan Mayeaux. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her six great great grandchildren, James Mayeaux, Isla Mayeaux, Grayson Clay, Isaiah Clay, Jadon Broussard, and Harpor Broussard; and her two sisters, Lou Fontenot and Audrey Leftwich.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Doniago and Odette Fontenot; husbands, Elroy Reed and Nathen “Snooks” Foret; daughter, Denise Foret; and canine companion, CiCi.
At the request of the family, visitation will be observed on Friday, May 21, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed in her honor Friday at 11:30 AM and will be led by Deacon Ben Soileau.
