PINE PRAIRIE-Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, for Harold Loyd Ardoin, 90, who passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in Alexandria, LA surrounded by his loved ones.

Father Kenneth Mayne, Pastor of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct all funeral services.

Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery.

Harold Loyd Ardoin was born in Easton, LA on April 1, 1928 to John and Neva Landreneau Ardoin. He was a parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie. Harold retired as an oilfield gauger and was a School Bus Driver for Evangeline Parish School System. He raised cattle and goats. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time in the woods squirrel hunting. His greatest love was the love he had for his family. He loved spending time with his family making many memories with them.

He is survived by his daugthers, Sue Ardoin Lafleur and husband Curtis Lafleur of Pine Prairie and Debbie Oge and companion Larry Louviere; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and special friend, Juanita Fontenot.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Neva Landreneau Ardoin; son, Doug Ardoin; brothers, Charlie Ardoin and Allen Ardoin; and wife, Nora Lee Guillory Ardoin.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:00 PM Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 8:00 AM until time of service.

Pall Bearers are Mike Soileau, Chad Soileau, Lance Oge, Dustin Ardoin, Garret Soileau and Ty Aymond.

The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Christus St. Francis Cabrini Physical Rehab and 6th North Staff for their excellent care.

    I really admired Mr. Loyd. He was a good friend of Dad's and came to visit him several times before Dad passed. May he rest in peace with his friends.

    I knew Mr. Lloyd through my Father, (Jeff) also a retire Bus Driver. I also worked with Doug offshore for a few years. Mr. Lloyd was a good man, and I'm glad I got to meet him about a month ago. We were able to catch up for a few minutes. My condolences to the family.

    So sorry to hear about Lloyd. He and my Father(Shelton Ardoin) were 1st cousins and I use to see him at my nephews (Joey )in Beaver. My Father spoke of him often. I know he will be missed by all.

    So sorry to hear of Mr. Lloyd's passing. He was a very sweet man and I know my nephew, Dustin Ardoin, will miss him a lot. I have so many memories of times Dustin spent with them on the farm. He and my other nephew, Clayton, would play with the chickens and the goats. I know that those sweet memories will be with him forever. Rest in Peace, Lloyd. Heaven has gained another angel.
