VILLE PLATTE – A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, February 03, 2019 for James Douglas Deville, 77, who passed away on January 30, 2019 in Eunice, LA surrounded by his loved ones.

Pastor Brian Dore, pastor of New Life Assembly of God, will conduct services.

Burial will take place in the M.B. Fontenot Cemetery in Ville Platte.

James Douglas Deville was born on January 13, 1942 in Ville Platte, LA to Unal Deville and Hazel Billadeaux Deville. He courageously served our country in the Nationl Guard for 20 years. He was a machinist at Dresser Industries in Eunice. James enjoyed fishing and loved football and complaining about the Saints.

He is survived by his daughters; Arlene Bertrand, Beverly Rowles and husband James, and Crystal Dehotels and husband Dallas; grandchildren, Shawn Bertrand and wife Amy, Heather Bertrand, Bradley Rowles, Bryant Rowles, Lauren Deshotels, Julie Deshotels, and Adam Deshotels, great grandchildren, Jacob Bertrand, Emily Bertrand, and Micah Deshotels; and sister Peggy Deville Maricle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Unal and Hazel Deville; and son in law, Douglas Bertrand.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
