EUNICE~With heavy hearts the family of Dorothy Jane Courville announces her passing on March 21, 2019 in the loving home of her family in Baton Rouge. She was 79. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Lawtell. Inurnment will follow in the Courville Cemetery in Eunice with Father Austin Leger, Celebrant.
Dorothy was a sweet and loving lady who never met a stranger. She had a good sense of humor and a green thumb with flowers and plants. Dorothy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her children, David Kipp Courville and wife, Janet of Hammond, Karen Courville Savoie and husband, Richard of Baton Rouge, and Donavon Courville and wife, Cari of Tampa, FL; brothers, Luke Darbonne and wife, Nettie of Pine Prairie and Jimmy Darbonne of Opelousas; four grandchildren, Andre Savoie, Erik Savoie, Tandy Jones, and Chase Courville; four step grandchildren, Jason Jarrell, Kevin Collins, Katie and Scout Lindsey; three great grandchildren, Abigail, Nick, and Clara Jane; four step great grandchildren, Jase, Cole, Karter and Kaden; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Courville; parents, Alduce and Olinar Darbonne; and brother, Boutsey Darbonne.
