BASILE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Thea "Tante" Ashford announces her passing on Sunday, March 24, 2019 in the comfort of her home with loving family by her side at the age of 100.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Duralde. Entombment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Msgr Romero Celebrant.
Thea, or "Tante" as she was called by everyone in the Evangeline Parish community where she lived all her life. Tante was a seamstress for Ardoin Department Store and Ruth Manuel as well as an avid quilter. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, cooking and especially time spent with her family. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her especially her sister, Anna Belle Ashford Gutentag and husband, Edwin of Basile and a host of nieces and nephews.
Now she will rest in heaven with her parents, Cemien and Celeste Fruge Ashford; her brothers, Preston, Lettel, Burkman and Kelly Ashford and a sister, Euna A. Vidrine Manuel.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 10:00 am until time of services. Her godchild, Cecil Ashford will recite a Rosary at 12:30 pm.

So sorry, that she's gone. Kept putting off to go visit her again. I had a gift for her, which I never brought to her. Iam so sorry, I loved that wonderful, sweet lady.
