MAMOU-Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou on Thursday, 27, 2018, for Mary Ellen Dupre, 84, who passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Ville Platte, LA.
Father Billy Massie, Pastor at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass.
Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery in Mamou, Louisiana.
Mary Ellen worked at the health unit and the Council on Aging. She loved having family and friends over to visit. She loved cooking, dancing and baking. Overall, she loved life and never knew a stranger.
She is survived by her stepson, Jamie Brent Dupre; grandchildren: Jessica Duhon, Robin Johnson, Johnny Reed, and Billy Reed; Step-grandchildren: Morgan Dupre and Colby Dupre; great grandchildren: Anthony Gaspard, Tori Gaspard, Zaylin Johnson, Zaron Johnson, Allison Reed, River Reed, Gabe Reed, and Clara Reed; sister, Sylvia Thompson; brother, Bob Tracey Reed; nephew, Pat Derouselle; nieces: Ellen LaFleur and Debbie Addington; several great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin “Toto” Dupre; daughter, Clara Mae Reed; grandson, Anthony “Tony” Duhon; two sisters, Leola “Blondie” Derouselle and Leta Mae Marcantel; and brother, Jeroy Reed.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Chuck Ortego at 6:00 PM Wednesday.
