VILLE PLATTE - Funeral services will be held at a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte on Thursday, December 06, 2018 for Jimmie Carol LeCoq, 76, who passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Ville Platte, LA surrounded by her loved ones.
Father Tom Voorhies, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery in Ville Platte, LA.
Jimmie LeCoq was born on April 17, 1942 to OJ “Blanc’hard” Fontenot and Lillian Fontenot. Born and raised in Ville Platte, she traveled the world as a military wife and after retirement she returned home to Ville Platte for the last 39 years. She worked as a Bank Teller at Guaranty Bank for 10 years. Jimmie loved traveling and visiting with people. She was very involved in the VFW; where she served as President for 25 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jimmie Carol LeCoq leaves behind to cherish her memories, her son, Bill LeCoq and wife Pauline of Ville Platte; daughter, Stephanie LeCoq of Ville Platte; grandchildren, Sophi LaFleur, Cole LeCoq, and Alex Fontenot; and great grandchildren, Cain Davis and Ellis LeCoq.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Winfield LeCoq; her parents, OJ “Blanc’hard” Fontenot and Lillian Fontenot; and sister, Bonnie Ritter.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
