VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte on Sunday, March 10, 2019 for Mary Nora Lee Guillaumin Deville, 79, who passed away on Friday morning March 8th, 2019, at Heritage Manor, in Ville Platte, La. due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
Deacon Ben Soileau will conduct the funeral service.
Nora, as she was known, was born on December 23, 1939 in Ville Platte, LA to Remy and Gertrude Latour Guillaumin. She dedicated her life to her family and her community. She and her husband, Ollie Deville, owned and operated Deville’s Furniture Store in Ville Platte.
Through her life, she proved herself to be a truly selfless person. Her mission was to make the life of her family better than her own. She welcomed opportunities to offer support any way she could to her immediate and extended families as well as anybody else she came across. Through her guidance, modeling and support, their business operated over 50 years serving the community and her children and grandchild became successful in their own chosen careers.
Nora had a tremendous love for animals and surrounded herself with a variety of them through her life. She was a dedicated Catholic whose passion for the family business spurred from the good she provided to her community through its doors. There’s nothing Nora liked better than to have customers visit her, share a cup of coffee and talk about her children and grandson.
She is survived by husband of 57 years, Ollie Deville; daughter, Sonia Deville of Jacksonville, FL; son, Tobin Deville and husband Mirco Deville of Ville Platte; and grandson, Cody Fusilier and wife Tracy Fusilier of Jacksonville, FL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Remy and Gertrude Latour Guillaumin; and brother, Nathan Guillaumin.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ben Soileau on Sunday at 5:00 PM; with funeral services to follow at 6:00 PM.
