Isola Fontenot
August 30, 1930 - July 25, 2010

MAMOU- A wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Isola Fontenot will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Isola passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Maison De Lafayette in Lafayette, at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:30pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum with Father Austin Leger Celebrant.

Isola was a very kind and loving woman, and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Mike Fontenot and wife, Ruth of New Iberia and James Gregory Fontenot and wife, Jane of Lafayette; grandchildren, Michael Len Fontenot and wife, Lindsay of New Iberia, Ryan Fontenot and wife, Tobie of New Iberia, Cori Fontenot of Lafayette, and Nicholas Fontenot of Lafayette; two great-grandsons, Ty Michael Fontenot and Jackson Matthew Fontenot of New Iberia; two sisters, Lillian Fontenot of Vidrine and Wonier Joy Savoy of Lake Charles; and one brother, Ronald J. Fontenot of Lake Charles.

Now she rests in Heaven with her beloved husband, Leonard Renee Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Perron will be reciting a Rosary at 6:30pm Tuesday evening.
