Damien Aguillard
August 12, 1979 - July 24, 2010
MAMOU-It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Damien Aguillard announces his passing on Saturday, July 24, 2010. He was 30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery with Father Mark Melancon Celebrant.
Damien known as “Crack Baby” to all who knew him was the Vidrine Fire Chief for the past two years. He was also a member of the Cattleman’s Association and worked for the Evangeline Co Op for four years. He was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, grandson, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Heather Aguillard of Vidrine; parents, Greg and Pamela Aguillard of Reddell; maternal grandparents, Albert and Belva Veillon of Mamou; four daughters, Pheobe Aguillard, Mylee Aguillard, Sydney Aguillard, and Charleigh Aguillard, all of Vidrine; three brothers, Chris Aguillard and wife, Crystal of Elton, Brent Aguillard and wife, Carrie of Ville Platte, and Brandon Aguillard and wife, Danielle of Lafayette; sister, Renee Aguillard of Reddell; and mother-in-law, Vernitta Martin of Turkey Creek.
Now he rests in Heaven with his paternal grandparents, Mervin and Lenora Aguillard.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 3:00pm until 10:00pm, Monday, July 26, 2010 from 8:00am until 10:00pm, and again on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 8:00am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Monday evening. A Memorial Fund for the family of Damien Aguillard will be accepting donations at the Citizen’s Bank in Mamou.
