EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Floyd J. “Pie” Prudhomme, Sr announces his passing on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 71. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Thomas More Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier Celebrant.
Floyd known as “Pie” to all who knew him is a Diesel Mechanic and Supervisor in the oilfield. He was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church Parish as well as a member of the Redline Hunting Club. Pie loved to hunt and build and he was truly a handyman. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Patin Prudhomme of Eunice; his son, Floyd “Butch” Prudhomme, Jr. and wife, Janet Manuel of Eunice; his two daughters, Rachael Prudhomme Lejeune and David of Church Point, Amanda Prudhomme Dupont and husband, William of Maurice; his brother, Roland Prudhomme, Sr. and wife, Martha of Eunice. He is also mourned by his eight grandchildren of whom he was very proud of Alex Prudhomme, Christopher Prudhomme, David Lejeune, Jr. Lathan Prudhomme, Matthew Dupont, Cole Prudhomme, Ashley Lejeune and Jacob Dupont as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Now he rests in Heaven with his beloved parents, Lathan and Maline Brown Prudhomme.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, July 21st from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Thursday, July 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon David Guillory will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
