Mark once said to me, before he left Ville Platte, and I was simply an acquaintance of his, Never let 1st place overrule your ability to be who you are and we were both drunk, standing over a camp fire, Ill never forget that.

I once saw Mark in a show in NY where there were more people on stage than in the audience. That didnt matter to him. Art is art. Mark is Mark... and always will be.
Huge spirit, huge presence, huge persona. Extremely likeable and ever unforgetable.

Mark, I am so sorry to hear about your passing. You were such a wonderful sweet person, and awesome to work for. My heart just broke today when you sister told me, and I am so sorry I did not know sooner so I could attend your services. I will never forget your kindness.

Mark was the first person I met when I moved to New Orleans and one of the most special people in my life. I will love him forever, and he will be with me always in my heart. I feel so much gratitude for the time that I got to spend with him. He taught me so much and brought me so much laughter. Words cannot express how much he will be missed, but I know he is now at peace. My thoughts and prayers will forever go out to all he loved and touched.

The first time I met Mark he made quite an impression on me, as he did with most. He spoke to me in his soothing Cajun lilt and opened my mind to the possibilities New Orleans could offer. He made me feel so welcome when I moved there, had a profound impact on me during the time I lived there, and became a mentor to me, more than he knew. I learned from his integrity, his compassion, his courage to bear his soul and to always stay true to himself. You could learn so much just from looking into those warm, gentle eyes. I adored and respected him dearly, and it breaks my heart that he was in so much pain. I feel honored to have known him the time that I did. The world needs more souls like Mark Krasnoff.

    Dear, Dear Mark,
From the days of working with you in Tony Bravo to casting you in AMCs Destination Louisiana, I was and will remain a fan of the humanity and ability you brought to each role. I am saddened, and heartbroken even, that you left us. But I promise you this, my friend. One of the things friends are for, is to hold that space of belief in ourselves when we are most lost and cant believe. I will always remember your style, your honestly and your willingness to risk. I will hold that space for you. You are worthy, you are cared for, and you and not alone. God Bless.

I got to know Mark in 1982 when I directed him in a play at USL. Having lived in New Orleans since 1989, I had the pleasure of meeting Mark on many occasions here over the years. Whether it was through a theatrical venue or just a chance meeting, it was always such a joy to be able to share a hug, a laugh and to see the twinkle in his eye when wed catch up on the news of our lives. I was always so proud of the work he did as an actor.......a true professional in every sense of the word. But more importantly, he was a wonderful, giving, kind and funny human being who was genuine and caring toward others.........and this world is a better place for having had the gift of Mark in our lives. My most sincere sympathies and condolences go out to Marks family and to all who were blessed to have known him.

Good night, sweet prince And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest

Mark was the most humble, gentle and loving human being. He was harmful to none and helpful to all. Mark was like no other. He had a way of seeing things on the periphery of what most others focused on and because of that, he could point things out that you would always have otherwise missed. This was one of his many gifts. A simple walk with Mark was an adventure because you could see things through his eyes and it was a whole new experience. Mark felt so deeply that life could either be very joyful for him or, at times far too painful. He spent so much of himself giving, tuning in to what others needed, and feeling compassion for others that he often forgot to tune in specifically to himself. He may have done this to the point of running out of resources to keep stepping forward for himself. But he would have had it no other way. He most often knew joy and hapiness when he was creating it for others to experience. He was special and amazing and will be so sorely missed it is almost inconcievable. Mark may have had many fears and unfounded anxieties that lead to his constant looming panic, however he was still a most amazingly courageous person with a heart the size of the universe. This world he referred to as being difficult to exist in, is now that much worse without his presence, and his smile, without his blue eyes looking into yours when he says he loves you, and without his lovely and beautiful mind. It is a tragedy to me that he was unable to recognize what a value he was to everyone he ever made contact with, andor if he did realize this, then it is a shame that this was not enough to carry him through this difficult time. Nevertheless, I, personally hope Mark has found his peace, because he truly deserves it. He deserves to be free of worry and feelings of not measuring up, fear of abandonment and rejection and any other painful emotions that caused him to feel as if he struggled for air. I hope Mark finds peace and I hope that all of the pain and suffering we who loved him are experiencing will transcend from this earth, turn into peace and find him. My strongest sympathies to Marks family and friends and my gratitude to Jennifer for putting Mark in my life. Jena
